stepping back in time to the days of the 1964-65 New York World's Fair.
Imagine what it would have been like to see new technologies like color
television or video phones before they became the everyday convenience
we have today. Imagine what it would have been like to step out
of your "meatloaf and potatoes" comfort zone to try exotic foods from
China or India. Imagine a futuristic playground, spanning 897
acres, which would have contained almost a week's worth of culture and
technology not experienced previously by the majority of Americans.
that playground is Flushing Meadows Corona Park in Queens, New York.
Most of the buildings and experiences from the fair have been
lost to us, but thanks to the arrival of the digital age, we now have
the ability to experience them once again!
Through text, photos,
audio, video, and real-world experiences, we invite you to visit
the 1964-65 New York World's Fair as part of one of our free
self-guided tours. We invite you to "dress the part" as you step
through the gates of the fair and step into the world of tomorrow as it
While there, you'll hear Walt Disney narrate

the Pepsi Cola pavilion. You'll view "To Be Alive" while standing

model in the former City of New York pavilion (now the Queens
Museum). You'll ride the World's Fair Carousel. You'll touch the
